New Delhi, Feb 26 (NationPress) On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored Vinayak Damodar Savarkar on his death anniversary, asserting that the revolutionary leader's legacy and achievements will perpetually motivate future generations in their dedication to the nation.

Veer Savarkar, as he is popularly known, authored the influential book Hindutva in 1923, which laid out the principles of Hindu nationalism. He was a key figure in revolutionary efforts against British colonial rule and endured 27 years of incarceration in the Cellular Jail.
