New Delhi, April 12 (NationPress) On the milestone of the 10th anniversary of the Mudra scheme, BJP national spokesperson and former Rajya Sabha MP Syed Zafar Islam commended the economic vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that has converted "job seekers" into "job givers".
While addressing the media, Islam noted that the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana (PMMY) has received accolades from global organizations such as the IMF, World Bank, and others.
He mentioned that under this initiative, a staggering Rs 33 lakh crore in loans has been disbursed to 52 crore beneficiaries, with 70 percent of them being women.
In response to the controversial statements made by Tamil Nadu Minister K. Ponmudi, Islam condemned his comments as anti-Hindu and insisted that Chief Minister M.K. Stalin must promptly dismiss him from the council of ministers.
He remarked that following Home Minister Amit Shah's announcement of the AIADMK-BJP alliance, the DMK was compelled to remove Ponmudi from his party position, yet he remained in the ministerial role.
Islam emphasized that while the BJP consistently promotes Tamil culture on an international platform, the DMK government has created chaos regarding issues related to language, caste, and religion.
He asserted that the DMK government in Tamil Nadu is not just engulfed in corruption but is also attempting to distract from its wrongdoings by frequently bringing up contentious topics such as Sanatan Dharma, the Waqf Board, delimitation, and language conflicts.
In a pointed remark towards Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he stated that Congress leaders may carry the Constitution in their pockets, but they fail to comply with its tenets.
Conversely, the BJP has advanced Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar's vision, with more than 50 percent of the beneficiaries under the Mudra scheme hailing from Dalit, Tribal, and OBC communities, he noted.
“At present, the Mudra scheme has significantly invigorated the MSME sector and accelerated the Indian economy. In 2014, the overall bank credit contribution of MSMEs was 15 percent, which has now escalated to 20 percent. Approximately 11 percent of the beneficiaries belong to minority communities, particularly Muslim women,” he stated.
Discussing the tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump, the BJP spokesperson remarked that every nation is apprehensive about the repercussions of these tariffs and the trajectory of the global economy. However, India stands out as the only nation that has emerged as a robust, stable, and self-reliant economy on the global stage.
