Authorities reported that the incident took place in Yelkicharla village, located in the Bhootpur mandal of Mahabubnagar district.

Jangamma, aged 42, was at the well with her children when she threw 15-year-old Jyothi and 13-year-old Sailaja into the water before following them. Her son, who escaped in time, alerted nearby villagers about the horrifying scene.

The police recovered the bodies from the well and sent them for a postmortem examination. Investigators indicated that the woman’s actions were a result of ongoing family disputes.

A police spokesperson mentioned that they have opened a case and are actively investigating the matter. This incident marks the third such tragedy in Telangana within this month.

The bodies of Shifat, 8, Ayat, 7, and Mariyam, 5, were later retrieved from the lake. Initially, he reported them missing to the police, but upon questioning, he confessed to the heinous act.
