Bhopal, March 4 (NationPress) The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet on Tuesday sanctioned various significant proposals, including the restructuring of three forest divisions within the Chhindwara forest circle, which encompasses Chhindwara and the newly established Pandhurna district.

As per the Cabinet's resolution, a total of 662.742 sq. km from the South Chhindwara forest division will be consolidated into the newly created Pandhurna forest division, while the remaining 293.944 sq. km will be distributed between the East and West Chhindwara forest divisions.

According to an official, “The South Chhindwara forest division will cease to exist and personnel will be reassigned accordingly to Pandhurna, East Chhindwara, and West Chhindwara forest divisions.”

Moreover, the Cabinet allocated Rs 30.56 crore for the implementation of the 'Poshan Bhi – Padhai Bhi' training initiative under the centrally supported ‘Saksham Anganwadi and Nutrition 2.0’ Scheme.

An official mentioned, “The aim of this program is to enhance early childhood care and education for children aged 3 to 6 years, fostering a foundational understanding with an educational perspective among Anganwadi workers and delivering high-quality, play-based learning.”

This initiative seeks to improve the capabilities of Anganwadi workers and train one child development project officer along with three supervisors to become master trainers.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved a proposal to increase the bonus for wheat procurement from Rs 125 to Rs 175 per quintal for the wheat crop in the current marketing year 2025-26.

The Chief Minister has previously announced that the government will purchase wheat at Rs 2,600 per quintal, which includes the Rs 175 per quintal bonus.

The state government is set to allocate Rs 1,400 crore from its budget for the procurement of 80 lakh metric tonnes of wheat. Additionally, the Cabinet resolved to provide an incentive of Rs 4,000 per hectare to farmers selling paddy.

An official stated, “This initiative will benefit 6.70 lakh farmers and will cover 12.20 lakh hectares of paddy cultivation. The state government will invest Rs 480 crore for this program.”
