Bhopal, March 14 (NationPress) In response to the discussions surrounding the Motion of Thanks to the Governor's address during the Budget session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly on Thursday, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced that women beneficiaries enrolled in the Ladli Behna scheme, who participate in the textile or readymade garment sectors, will be eligible for a monthly wage incentive of Rs 5,000.
The Chief Minister emphasized the state's commitment to progress, aiming for a remarkable Rs 28 lakh crore Budget by the year 2047.
This wage assistance is part of the Central government's Textile Policy, 2024.
CM Yadav highlighted the recently established new tiger reserves - Madhav National Park and Kuno National Park - and praised the state's top ranking in the health index.
He humorously suggested that Congress members interested in encountering a leopard should visit Sheopur, where arrangements could be made.
Yadav criticized the Congress party for its historical management of the tigers in Madhav National Park, a sanctuary founded in 1919, stating that while under his administration, the majestic tigers have been reintroduced to their natural habitat.
He proudly noted the significant growth in forest tourism, which has surged from 64 lakh visitors in 2003 to a staggering 13 crore today.
CM Yadav praised the ideals of Gandhiji, Ambedkar, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asserting that these principles are reflected in the Governor's address.
He presented an ambitious plan to elevate the state's Budget to an astounding Rs 28 lakh crore by 2047.
Additionally, the Chief Minister commended Madhya Pradesh's rise to the top of the national health index, recognized by Niti Aayog, which has classified the state as a performer.
The Ladli Behan Yojana continues to be a flagship initiative of the Madhya Pradesh government, providing Rs 1,250 monthly to beneficiaries, with a commitment to gradually increase this amount to Rs 3,000.
Recently, State Finance Minister Jagdish Devda announced plans in the newly presented annual Budget for 2025-26 to connect this initiative with the Atal Pension Yojana, aimed at offering pension benefits through various schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Suraksha Yojana, ensuring financial security for women.
Currently, there are 1.27 crore registered women beneficiaries under this scheme.
The State Finance Minister allocated Rs 18,669 crore for the initiative.
Moreover, the scheme will now link beneficiaries to the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, as mentioned by the Minister during the state Budget presentation.
These linkages will provide essential life and accident insurance coverage, adding a layer of financial security for the women involved.
The discussion surrounding the Motion of Thanks extended over 11 and a half hours, underscoring its significance before the Assembly transitions to the critical Budget discussion starting from March 17 following the Holi holidays.
