Bhopal, March 24 (NationPress) A devastating car accident occurred in Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri district on Sunday, resulting in the tragic deaths of two female doctors and leaving four other doctors injured, as confirmed by the police.
The incident transpired near Lukwasa village under the jurisdiction of Kolaras police station.
The vehicle was en route from Ayodhya to Ujjain when the mishap occurred.
Sub-Divisional Officer of Police (SDOP) Vijay Yadav stated: "The accident happened within the Kolaras police station area at approximately 7:30 a.m. In this unfortunate event, Tanvi Acharya (50) was pronounced dead at the scene, while Neelam Pandit (55) succumbed to her injuries at the hospital."

The injured individuals include Uday Joshi (64) and his wife Seema Joshi (59), both from Dadar, Mumbai, Subodh Pandit (62) from Vasai in Palghar district, and Atul Acharya (55) from Bhiwandi in Thane district. SDOP Yadav added that they are receiving treatment at the district hospital in Shivpuri.
After visiting the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the group was en route to Ujjain for Mahakal Darshan. At around 8:30 a.m., near Lukwasa village, Atul Acharya, who was driving the vehicle, reportedly dozed off, leading to the tragic accident.
The car collided with a culvert on the four-lane highway, resulting in the immediate death of Tanvi Acharya.
The other doctors suffered injuries and were rushed to the district hospital, where Neelam Pandit also passed away. The remaining injured doctors are in stable condition.
The police have commenced an investigation into the incident.
