Patna, Feb 20 (NationPress) Authorities in Bihar's West Champaran have apprehended two individuals in connection with the murder of an executive assistant from the State Electricity Department. The incident occurred on Wednesday, according to officials.

The deceased, Sanjeev Kumar Barnwal, was out for a morning stroll with his wife, Nisha Barnwal, when they were confronted by four familiar assailants. They attacked him with knives and subsequently shot him in the chest.

The attack took place near TP Verma College in Narkatiaganj, within the West Champaran district of Bihar on Monday.

Jayprakash Singh, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Narkatiaganj, stated that the victim's wife, Nisha Barnwal, orchestrated the plot to eliminate her husband.

The investigation indicated that the murder was carefully planned.

Nisha was reportedly involved in a romantic relationship with her nephew and allegedly offered Rs 5 lakh to hired assassins to carry out the crime.

Singh remarked that the case raised suspicions from the outset.

The police performed a technical investigation under the guidance of West Champaran Superintendent of Police Shaurya Suman. Other suspects have been identified, and search operations for their capture are underway.

Nisha Barnwal's illicit affair with her nephew led her to plan the murder to remove an obstacle in their relationship.

According to the scheme, she led her husband, Sanjeev Barnwal, to TP Verma College during their morning walk.

The authorities noted that she was keen to witness her husband's murder.

In her initial account, Nisha misled the police by asserting that the assailants first shoved her from behind and restrained her. They then overpowered her husband, attacking him with knives and ultimately shooting him before fleeing the scene.

She also mentioned a land dispute involving four individuals. While she escaped with minor injuries, her husband suffered stab wounds in six different areas.

Sanjeev received initial treatment in Narkatiaganj before being transferred to The Government Medical College and Hospital in Bettiah for further care.

Unfortunately, Sanjeev Kumar Barnwal succumbed to his multiple stab injuries and blood loss during treatment.
