Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Sep 22 (NationPress) - Following the inauguration of the newly built Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department in Muzaffarpur by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar via video conferencing, farmers are set to gain immediate access to government schemes through a streamlined single-window system.
The new facility is situated in Bhagwanpur, Muzaffarpur, and the event was attended by District Magistrate Subrata Kumar Sen, along with officials from the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Departments and other governmental bodies.
District Animal Husbandry Officer Manoj Kumar Mehta expressed that the inauguration of this facility is a significant achievement for Muzaffarpur, as it provides a single-window system to enhance farmers' access to various schemes. The building also houses a conference hall and a training center.
To benefit from the animal husbandry or fisheries schemes, training is a prerequisite. Farmers must complete this training to apply online and secure approvals. The subsidies provided can range from 40% to 90%, depending on the specific scheme. During the event, several farmers recounted their positive experiences.

One beneficiary stated: "I had aspired to start a business for a long time. I learned about animal husbandry and fish farming. I received financial assistance and guidance from the government, totaling Rs 18 lakh."
Another individual shared: "I obtained funding under the PMMSY scheme, which has proven to be extremely beneficial. My project is valued at Rs 7 lakh, of which I received 50% from the government. I have two ponds on one hectare of land. It's an excellent scheme."
A third beneficiary mentioned, "I was managing a business with 20 goats and received Rs 1.21 lakh from the government."
Bihar provides various schemes from both the state and central governments, including financial support for unemployed graduates under the Mukhyamantri Nishchay Swayam Sahayata Bhatta Yojana, women empowerment initiatives like the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana, and welfare programs such as the Mukhyamantri Kanya Suraksha Yojana for girl children in BPL families.
