New Delhi, Nov 4 (NationPress) The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is on track for a significant electoral triumph, outpacing the Mahagathbandhan (comprising RJD, Congress, and Left parties) in the fiercely contested Bihar Assembly elections, according to findings from the IANS-Matrize opinion poll conducted between October 10 and November 3.
The IANS-Matrize survey indicates that the NDA is poised to achieve a notable 49 percent vote share, while the Mahagathbandhan is projected to lag at 38 percent, creating a margin exceeding 11 percent.
This stark contrast in polling numbers reflects a considerable lead for the NDA, potentially securing 153-164 seats, whereas the grand alliance is forecasted to win 76-87 seats. Should these predictions be realized, it would result in a near two-thirds majority for the BJP-led NDA coalition.
According to the IANS-Matrize poll, the BJP is anticipated to garner a 21 percent vote share, while JD (U) is estimated to achieve 18 percent, translating into approximately 83-87 seats and 61-65 seats respectively. Smaller coalition members are expected to receive votes from the Hindustan Awam Morcha (2 percent), Lok Janshakti Party (6 percent), and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (2 percent).
Within the grand alliance, RJD is projected to emerge as the leading party, capturing 22 percent vote share and translating into 62-66 seats, while Congress is expected to secure an 8 percent mandate and win 7-9 seats. The Left parties, including CPI (ML), CPI, and CPI (M), could collectively account for 7 percent vote share and potentially add 6-10 seats to the grand alliance's total.
Mukesh Sahani's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) seems to be losing ground, with its vote share dwindling to just 1 percent.
Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraaj, a newcomer in this electoral contest, is projected to make a modest impact with a 4 percent vote share, although this is below expectations raised during the campaign.
The AIMIM, led by Owaisi, which is contesting independently, may secure 1-2 seats with a 1 percent vote share.
The IANS-Matrize Opinion Poll reflects the sentiments of 73,387 participants ahead of the elections, with a demographic breakdown of 38,109 males, 19,787 females, and 15,390 young voters. The survey was conducted from October 10 to November 3, with a margin of error of 3 percent.
Notably, the intense campaigning for the first phase of Bihar's electoral battleground concludes today, marking the end of a vigorous campaign for 121 constituencies, which are scheduled to vote on November 6. The second phase of polling is set for November 11.
