New Delhi, July 30 (NationPress) - On Wednesday, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri engaged in discussions with a diverse delegation of Members of Parliament from Nepal, currently visiting New Delhi. The primary focus was on identifying avenues to enhance the partnership between India and Nepal for the benefit of both nations.
In a post on X, Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), remarked, "Today, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri engaged with a multiparty delegation of MPs from Nepal and explored opportunities to expand the multifaceted India-Nepal partnership for mutual gain."
On Sunday, the Nepalese Embassy in India expressed its pleasure in welcoming the visiting MPs, emphasizing that regular exchanges of visits among leaders, including MPs, would bolster bilateral relations.
Accompanying images shared on X by the Nepal Embassy stated, "We are delighted to welcome the visiting delegation of MPs from Nepal and engage with them at the Embassy of Nepal in India today. The seventh session of the India-Nepal Boundary Working Group (BWG) took place in New Delhi on July 28-29. According to the MEA, officials from both countries jointly approved the "Updated Modalities for Inspection, Repair, and Maintenance of Boundary Pillars along the India-Nepal Boundary" and committed to expediting the associated work.
The Indian contingent was led by Hitesh Kumar S Makwana, Surveyor General of India, while the Nepali delegation was headed by Prakash Joshi, Director General of the Survey Department, Government of Nepal.
As per the MEA's press release, "The BWG meeting also established a work plan for the next three years, with both sides agreeing to utilize the latest technologies for boundary management."
