On Sunday, while addressing a rally in Balurghat, Nabin criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Congress for hindering the implementation of women's reservation in legislatures.
“Even as a woman, Mamata Banerjee has let down the women of Bengal by colluding with parties like the Congress to block the women's reservation bill in the Lok Sabha,” he charged. He called on female voters in the state to “make her accountable,” asserting that the Trinamool Congress government has failed to guarantee the safety of women, referencing incidents at R.G. Kar Hospital and a medical college in Durgapur.
Nabin further emphasized that ousting the Trinamool Congress was essential to eliminate infiltrators and protect national security.
His statements followed the defeat of a proposed Constitution Amendment Bill on Friday, which aimed to reserve 33 percent of legislative seats for women.
He accused the Chief Minister of shielding infiltrators, promising that if elected, the BJP would provide effective governance, highlighting the party's proactive stance in West Bengal.
