Patna, March 20 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed his disapproval on Thursday towards Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Kumar Krishna Mohan, also known as Suday Yadav, for utilizing mobile phones in the state Assembly, urging for strict adherence to the existing ban.

During the Question Hour, Yadav was caught using his mobile device while posing a query about Public Distribution System dealers.

Noticing this, CM Nitish voiced a strong objection, reminding everyone that mobile phones are prohibited within the Assembly.

He addressed Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and called for decisive measures, stating: "This is already banned in the House. I implore you (Speaker) to ensure that anyone found with a mobile phone should be expelled from the House."

He continued to caution against the detrimental consequences of excessive mobile phone usage.

"In the past, we witnessed this frequently. We recognized the arising issues, which led to the prohibition in 2019. If this persists, the world may face dire consequences in the next decade," remarked CM Nitish.

"Why are you holding a mobile phone? Present your points without it," the Chief Minister questioned Suday Yadav.

In response to CM Nitish's comments, RJD MLA Bhai Virendra remarked to IANS: "We are not schoolchildren. We are MLAs representing a segment of the population in the Bihar Assembly. While Nitish Kumar accuses us, he should first address his legislators and ministers who also utilize mobile phones to respond in the House."

He added that this was not the first instance of CM Nitish expressing anger towards RJD leaders in the Assembly.

Prior to the Assembly session, opposition MLAs, including those from the RJD, conducted a protest in the portico demanding an increase in the honorarium for PDS shopkeepers to Rs 25,000.

On Thursday, budget proposals for five crucial departments, including health, agriculture, social welfare, and disaster management, are scheduled to be discussed in the House.
