No Threat to Sanatan Dharma: Strong Leadership of CM Yogi and PM Modi Safeguards Its Integrity, Says Mahant Ramratan (IANS Interview)

Mahakumbh Nagar, Dec 31 (NationPress) When asked about the outdated term 'Shahi Snan', Mahant Ramratan, the secretary of the Shri Panchayati Akhada Niranjani, elaborated in an interview with IANS that it has been superseded by 'Amrit Snan' (the immortal bath) for the Maha Kumbh.

He further elaborated that 'Amrit Snan' is a more fitting term, as the waters of the Ganges are sacred and likened to nectar. This alteration signifies purity and embodies the essence of Sanatan Dharma.

Mahant Ramratan expressed his support for RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's remarks, stating that he holds him in high regard. He commended Bhagwat's efforts to highlight the significance of Sanatan Dharma and pointed out that symbols of temples found within mosques should be acknowledged and respected, advocating for such surveys. He confirmed that there was nothing inappropriate about Bhagwat's statement.

When asked if Sanatan Dharma is under threat, Mahant Ramratan confidently asserted that Sanatan Dharma can never be endangered. He mentioned that whenever there is a crisis facing Sanatan Dharma, an incarnation (avatar) emerges to safeguard it. He commended Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling them as capable leaders. He remarked that under their guidance, Sanatan Dharma will always remain secure.

In response to inquiries about Muslim participation in the Kumbh Mela, Mahant Ramratan clarified that he does not have an issue with Muslims in general; rather, his concerns are directed towards those who desecrate the Mela areas by adding litter to tea stalls or water sources. He stressed that his objections are aimed at such individuals, not at ordinary Muslims. He also stated that Muslim government officials fulfilling their duties at Kumbh would have no restrictions.

Mahant Ramratan characterized Ganga water as nectar, asserting that bathing in the Ganga cleanses sins. He maintained that the Ganga's water is consistently suitable for bathing and remains a vital aspect of Hinduism, dismissing any claims that Ganga water is no longer appropriate for such purposes.

In reaction to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's announcement to provide Rs 18,000 to priests and clerics, Mahant Ramratan labeled Kejriwal as dishonest, indicating that he has made numerous false promises in the past, including various pledges upon taking office as Chief Minister, none of which were actualized. He expressed skepticism about Kejriwal’s plans, dismissing them as mere political maneuvers.

Regarding the speculation of a potential proposal for a Hindu nation at Kumbh, Mahant Ramratan stated that such a proposal is unnecessary. He emphasized that the true essence of Hinduism lies in its conduct and devotion, and there is no requirement to exploit it for political purposes.

When questioned about Akhilesh Yadav, a leader from the Samajwadi Party, and his possible visit to Kumbh, Mahant Ramratan noted that opposition parties consistently critique government actions. However, he welcomed the idea of Akhilesh Yadav attending Kumbh, as it is a religious event, and all leaders are encouraged to pay their respects to the saints. He reminded that Akhilesh Yadav had visited Kumbh in 2019, and any leader is welcome to visit and receive blessings.

Concerning the financial aid provided by the Samajwadi Party (SP) to families affected by violence in Sambhal, Mahant Ramratan pointed out that while five lakh rupees were allocated to the families of the deceased, he questioned whether Akhilesh Yadav had ever made a similar contribution for Hindus.

He accused the SP leader of engaging in vote-bank politics rather than genuinely aiding people. He stated that while Akhilesh consistently supports Muslims, he fails to advocate for Hindus in times of distress.

On the opposition's remarks about the Kumbh Mela, Mahant Ramratan noted that it is the opposition's role to criticize government decisions, regardless of their benefits. He remarked that despite the commendable work being carried out by Yogi Adityanath and the Modi government, the opposition perpetually criticizes them, which is typical of political dynamics.
