Patna, Sep 26 (NationPress) The unveiling of Bihar's Mukhyamantri Mahila Rojgar Yojana by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday via video conferencing evolved into a profound dialogue, as he engaged with numerous women beneficiaries, who are crafting their own success narratives through their entrepreneurial endeavors.
Among these, beneficiary Noor Jahan's discussion with PM Modi stood out, as she shared her journey of empowerment through government initiatives and emotionally connected with the Prime Minister, frequently addressing him as ‘bhaiya’.
Her statement, "Previously, we viewed our husbands as our sampatti, but now our husbands regard us as lakhpatis," elicited smiles from everyone present, including the Prime Minister.
"We feel immense joy with this Rs 10,000 grant since it provides us the opportunity to launch a business of our choosing. In the past, families were against us stepping out, and husbands would sometimes resort to violence. However, today, due to our newfound self-sufficiency, families hold us in high regard. There's a celebratory vibe everywhere," she expressed.
Later, in an interview with IANS, Noor Jahan from Gayaji stated, "Upon receiving Rs 2 lakh, I plan to establish a new counter at my tailoring shop and create more job opportunities for others. Currently, our business employs 10 individuals."
She added, "We are filled with happiness. Previously, our voices as economically disadvantaged individuals were unheard. Today, through Jeevika, we had the chance to converse with PM Modi and the Chief Minister, and this brings us great joy."
She expressed her delight at speaking directly with the Prime Minister, stating pride when he requested her assistance.
Noor Jahan further informed IANS, "The Prime Minister asked me to dedicate time to him weekly. He suggested gathering 50 to 100 women to educate them about government schemes. Just as you have gained knowledge, you should also connect them with employment opportunities. Share information so that they can become self-sufficient and reap the benefits, leading to an improved quality of life. This will foster both economic growth and happiness."
