Odisha Police Enhances Security Amidst Threats to DG-IGP Conference

Bhubaneswar, Nov 28 (NationPress) In light of the threats posed by pro-Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the police commissioner of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate, S. Dev Datta Singh, emphasized on Thursday that a stringent watch has been established to monitor any potential dangers from anti-national factions during the upcoming DG and IGP Conference-2024, commencing on Friday.

During a press briefing, Singh remarked, “A rigorous surveillance has been implemented to counter any potential threats from such anti-national groups. Numerous anti-national elements exist within our nation, and we are committed to ensuring the event proceeds successfully to the utmost of our professional capabilities.”

He also mentioned that the Odisha police, along with its specialized anti-terror units and the Intelligence Bureau, are fully equipped to handle such threats.

Singh pointed out that conferences like these are crucial for addressing anti-national elements, which are continually being neutralized to prevent them from harming India.

He assured that comprehensive security measures have been established, taking these threats into account.

More than 70 platoons of police personnel have been allocated for the three-day 59th DG and IGP Conference-2024, scheduled to take place in Bhubaneswar from November 29 to December 1.

Furthermore, Singh indicated that Bhubaneswar has been enveloped in a robust security framework involving officials and staff from the Odisha Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and other agencies for this significant event.

It is noteworthy that the founder of the banned group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Pannun, had previously released a threatening video urging Naxalites, Maoists, and Kashmiri terrorists to disrupt the DG and IGP Conference-2024.

The grand three-day event will see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, NSA Ajit Doval, senior officials from the Intelligence Bureau, DGPs of all states, the DG of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as well as heads from Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), National Security Guard (NSG), and Special Protection Group (SPG).
