Bhubaneswar, Jan 29 (NationPress) The tourism sector in Odisha experienced a significant surge during the ‘Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’ with an impressive 121 investment intents totaling Rs 8,153 crore. This announcement was made by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who expressed optimism about the state’s growing reputation as a key investment destination.
In an interview with IANS, Parida stated, “Utkarsh Odisha represents a beacon of hope. As PM Modi mentioned, Odisha is now the next hotspot for investors. We are witnessing a wave of investments from various sectors, and this year, the tourism industry has particularly attracted attention, securing over Rs 8,153 crore in commitments. The creation of an MSME park dedicated to women-led businesses, along with increased female representation in leadership roles, are promising initiatives for a brighter future for Odisha.
The ‘Utkarsh Odisha’ Conclave, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, is being celebrated as the largest business summit the state has ever hosted, drawing a record number of investors. During the event, PM Modi remarked that Odisha is playing a pivotal role in the economic growth of Eastern India, which is swiftly emerging as a vital economic engine for the country.
