Odisha's Leaders Send Warm Christmas Wishes

Bhubaneswar, Dec 25 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Odisha, Mohan Charan Majhi, along with his predecessor and Biju Janata Dal leader Naveen Patnaik, shared festive greetings with the people of both the state and the country on this joyful Christmas occasion.
"Merry Christmas! May your day be overflowing with joy, love, and happiness," expressed CM Majhi.
Former Chief Minister Patnaik, who currently serves as the Leader of the Opposition, along with other political figures, also sent out their Christmas wishes. "I extend my warmest wishes to our Christian brothers and sisters in Odisha on this festive day. May you all have a merry Christmas," Patnaik declared in a video message.
Patnaik took part in the Christmas festivities by visiting churches located at Satya Nagar and Sachivalaya Marg.
"May the joyous spirit of Christmas fill hearts with love, harmony, and hope. Let us celebrate the season with compassion, unity, and the promise of a brighter tomorrow. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas full of blessings and cheer!" shared Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, the Deputy CM of Odisha, on his X account.
Across the state, members of the Christian community gathered at local churches to engage in midnight prayers, masses, and carols in celebration of Christmas.
The state is home to a significant Christian population, particularly in districts such as Gajapati, Kandhamal, Sundargarh, and Rayagada.
Nevertheless, the Christmas celebrations in the coastal districts were somewhat hindered due to rainfall and overcast conditions brought on by a low-pressure system.
Since Tuesday, various regions in the state have experienced consistent rainfall.
This unexpected precipitation has limited the outdoor festivities throughout the state.
The India Meteorological Department has forecasted that the rainfall will persist for another 24 hours.
However, the rainfall is anticipated to diminish from December 26 onwards, with some southern areas likely to experience moderate to heavy downpours.
