Rohtak, April 23 (NationPress) Essential facilities are significantly deficient in Omaxe City, located in Sector 28 of Haryana's Rohtak, despite the lofty promises made by the builder during the sale of residential plots and apartments, residents expressed on Wednesday.

Numerous residents claim that the commitments made at the time of plot and flat sales remain unfulfilled, and the existing amenities serve merely as a formality.

In an interview with IANS, resident Yashvir Rathi stated, "We purchased our plot in 2008. Many of the builder's promises from that time still remain unmet. Approximately Rs 18 to Rs 20 crore worth of electrical work is still pending."

"Moreover, there is a constant water shortage, and the builder has yet to construct an overhead tank. The security measures are inadequate, often leading to theft and snatching incidents," he added.

Another resident, Prem Sharma, who has resided in the township since 2014, mentioned, "This is merely a ‘sector’ in name only. There are no fundamental facilities such as proper sanitation, electricity, or water supply."

He further noted that Omaxe has outsourced maintenance duties to a different agency that scarcely performs any tasks. If a resident fails to pay maintenance fees, their electricity is cut off without any prior notification.

Sharma also claimed that a green belt indicated in the original layout plan was subsequently sold off by the company as private property, where farmhouses and homes have now been constructed.

Manjeet, another resident, stated he purchased his plot in 2016 and has faced persistent electricity issues since then. "They had promised a jogging track along the canal, but that land has been sold off too," he told IANS.

Babita Sharma, a resident of over five years, commented, "There is no adequate security here. We do not feel safe stepping outside our homes at night."

Frustrated by the unfulfilled promises, residents have lodged complaints with the government. In response, the state has issued warnings to the builder.

Haryana’s Development and Panchayat Minister, Krishan Lal Panwar, has instructed the officials of Omaxe City to settle all outstanding dues, including pending electricity bills, within two months.

He cautioned that failure to comply with this directive would result in a first information report (FIR) against the township management.
