New Delhi, May 7 (NationPress) 'Operation Sindoor', India's decisive response to the Pahalgam terror strike orchestrated by Pakistan-backed militants on April 22, targeted nine sites across the border, annihilating terrorists and their hideouts in the early hours of Wednesday.
This operation, termed 'Operation Sindoor', has resonated deeply with the victims of Pahalgam, with several Army veterans praising it as a meaningful homage to the widows who tragically lost their partners in the brutal attack.
In an exclusive interview with IANS, Colonel Abhay Patvardhan (Retd) remarked, "Operation Sindoor has been aptly named to honor the victims and their families from Pahalgam, demonstrating that the government views the casualties not just as mere statistics, but seeks to acknowledge their humanity and emotional pain."
He also indicated that over 250 terrorists may have been eliminated during these precision strikes.
"While media reports suggest that around 60-70 terrorists have been neutralized, my assessment is that more than 250 have been taken out," he explained.
He further noted that the impact on the enemy side from this precision strike would have been significant.
Brigadier Uday Kumar W Deshmukh, SM (Sena Medal), VSM (Retd.), also spoke to IANS, praising 'Operation Sindoor' and asserting that if Pakistan, the 'terror-sponsoring' nation, does not change its approach, the Indian Armed Forces will tighten their grip around it.
"The Line of Control (LoC) will be active for the foreseeable future. Nevertheless, the Indian Armed Forces, among the finest globally, are well-prepared to counter any threats," he stated.
On the nature of Pakistan's actions, he expressed, "They will initiate a disinformation campaign and try to assert their power with nuclear threats. The Pakistan Army will retaliate, that is certain, but we are ready to respond."
