New Delhi, Sep 1 (NationPress) Senior BJP figure Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Monday issued a pointed critique of the Opposition's ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar, alleging they are diminishing public participation in the democratic process instead of promoting voter awareness.
In an interview with IANS on the concluding day of the yatra, which is set to wrap up with a padyatra to Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, Naqvi contended that the campaign is merely a political facade orchestrated by “fixers” within the Opposition who have lost the faith of the public.
“The so-called 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' resembles a fictional film featuring the usual ‘family frame fixers’. The movie has bombed even before its release. These leaders, who are heroes only in fabricated narratives but zeros in reality, are beating the drum of confusion to undermine the country’s constitutional institutions,” Naqvi condemned.
He asserted that the leaders of the INDIA Bloc involved in the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' are misleading the public and disregarding the constitutional integrity of the Election Commission.
“Rather than inspiring citizens to vote, they are demoralizing the electorate. Their true goal is not electoral reform but rather political survival,” Naqvi declared.
The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', led by the Opposition's INDIA Bloc, was intended to shed light on alleged discrepancies in the electoral rolls. Nonetheless, leaders from the NDA have consistently dismissed the initiative as a political stunt aimed at reclaiming lost influence ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
In a separate statement, Naqvi also commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, emphasizing it underscores India’s rising stature and unwavering commitment to national interests.
“Our nation and our commitment are robust. Under PM Modi’s guidance, India has always prioritized national interests. Today, terrorism represents a significant global challenge across economic, social, and educational realms. India has consistently denounced terrorism and confronted it with unwavering resolve,” he added.
