New Delhi, Sep 1 (NationPress) Senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi sharply criticized the Opposition's ongoing 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' in Bihar, claiming they are discouraging citizen participation in the democratic process instead of fostering voter awareness.
In an interview with IANS on the concluding day of the yatra, which will end with a padyatra to Patna’s Gandhi Maidan, Naqvi asserted that the campaign is merely a political ploy orchestrated by “fixers” in the Opposition who have lost the public's trust.
“The so-called 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' resembles a fictional film starring the usual 'family frame fixers.' This film has flopped even before its release. These leaders, who are heroes only in fabricated narratives but zeros in reality, are creating confusion to undermine the nation’s constitutional institutions,” Naqvi stated.
He further claimed that the INDIA Bloc leaders participating in the 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' are misleading the public and disregarding the constitutional integrity of the Election Commission.
“Rather than inspiring people to vote, they are demoralizing the electorate. Their goal is not electoral reform but political survival,” Naqvi emphasized.
The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra', spearheaded by the Opposition's INDIA bloc, aimed to raise awareness about alleged inconsistencies in electoral rolls. Nevertheless, NDA leaders have consistently dismissed this initiative as a political stunt aimed at regaining lost momentum ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
In a related statement, Naqvi commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit, asserting it underscores India’s rising stature and unwavering commitment to national interests.
“Our nation and our dedication are robust. Under PM Modi’s guidance, India has always prioritized national interest. Today, terrorism poses the largest challenge globally, be it economic, social, or educational. India has consistently condemned terrorism and has resolutely fought against it,” he remarked.
