Patna, Sep 1 (NationPress) On the final day of the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Bihar Assembly, delivered a fierce critique of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He accused both leaders of jeopardizing democracy and conspiring with the Election Commission.
In front of a large crowd, the LoP posed a provocative question: "Do you prefer the original CM or a mere imitation? The decision lies with you."
He emphasized that Bihar, revered as the mother of democracy, would resist the BJP's alleged attempts at vote manipulation.
"Two BJP figures, namely PM Modi and Amit Shah, in collusion with the Election Commission, are intent on dismantling democracy in both Bihar and the nation. Do we want a monarchy or democracy? They are deceiving the people of Bihar by establishing factories in Gujarat while aiming for victory here. Such individuals need to face consequences," he asserted.
Tejashwi also honored his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav's political journey.
"Lalu Prasad Yadav was instrumental in the arrest of L.K. Advani, and his son, Tejashwi, will not shy away from FIRs. Our God emerged from prison. Lalu Prasad Yadav never submitted to them (BJP), and Tejashwi will not either. We are vigilantly monitoring every corrupt official, and once we assume power, justice will be served," stated LoP Tejashwi Yadav.
Labeling PM Modi a "factory of lies", Tejashwi rallied the crowd with chants: "Desh ka bhoot, Modi ka jhoot."
Mukesh Sahani, chief of the Vikassheel Insaan Party, expressed that the Voter Adhikar Yatra marks the beginning of a larger struggle.
"In times of oppression, it took 250 years for independence to be achieved. The Constitution granted us voting rights. Leaders must serve the populace; otherwise, the electorate can replace them. PM Narendra Modi is unconcerned—he doesn't win through votes but rather through theft. Although this Yatra concludes today, our struggle continues. We must reach every booth and educate voters," Sahani remarked.
Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren accused the central government of exploiting federal agencies.
"The NDA administration intimidates opposition representatives using conspiracies, the Enforcement Directorate, and Income Tax investigations. They imprisoned me as part of a plot—otherwise, after our complete majority in Jharkhand, they wouldn't have been able to secure any seats in the Lok Sabha. This vote theft isn't new; Rahul Gandhi has already brought it to light," Soren explained.
CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya linked the concept of vote theft to previous economic crises.
"Just as demonetization crippled India's economy, there is currently an effort to undermine our democratic framework through vote theft. This is why we initiated the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, shouting: 'Vote Chor – Gaddi Chhod.'"
