Patna, Sep 1 (NationPress) Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha on Monday criticized the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, branding his ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ as a political venture aimed not at defending democracy but at preserving dynastic interests.
In statements made to IANS, Vijay Kumar Sinha remarked, “This was not a 'Voter Adhikar Yatra'. This was a journey to uphold the legacy of nepotism. These two individuals — Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi — were born into privilege. They are not champions of democracy but are focused on securing their family assets. This was their final campaign. Genuine defenders of democracy will never endorse them in the upcoming elections.”
This comment followed LoP Gandhi's conclusion of a two-week-long yatra in Patna.
Addressing a large assembly at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Park, LoP Gandhi accused the BJP of executing “widespread vote theft” with the support of the Election Commission of India.
“Previously, we revealed the atomic bomb and exposed the BJP’s electoral fraud in collaboration with the Election Commission. Now, what surpasses an atomic bomb? It is a hydrogen bomb. We will utilize a hydrogen bomb to expose PM Narendra Modi — ensuring he cannot face the public,” LoP Gandhi stated, igniting enthusiastic applause from the audience.
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav also joined LoP Gandhi in criticizing both PM Modi and Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, accusing them of conspiring with the Election Commission to undermine democracy.
“Bihar is the foundation of democracy, and it will not permit the BJP’s conspiracy of vote theft to prevail. Do you desire an original Chief Minister or a replica? The choice is yours,” Yadav declared passionately.
Leveraging his father’s political legacy, Yadav evoked memories of the arrest of BJP leader L.K. Advani during the peak of the Ram Rath Yatra.
“Lalu Prasad Yadav never capitulated to the BJP. Similarly, his son Tejashwi will stand strong. Our god was born in prison; FIRs cannot intimidate us. We are monitoring all corrupt officials, and when we assume power, action will be prompt,” he added.
The RJD leader also labeled PM Modi a “producer of falsehoods,” rallying the crowd with slogans: “Desh ka bhoot, Modi ka jhoot.”
Meanwhile, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge praised the successful conclusion of the yatra, describing it as a symbolic victory despite the BJP’s alleged attempts to obstruct it.
“The 'Voter Adhikar Yatra' is a topic of discussion nationwide. The BJP made significant efforts to halt it, yet the people of Bihar, along with Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and the entire Grand Alliance stood resolute. Ultimately, our yatra reached a successful conclusion,” Kharge commented.
