Patna, Aug 17 (NationPress) Bharatiya Janata Party's National Secretary Rituraj Sinha has sharply criticized the INDIA bloc's Voter Adhikar Yatra, spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, labeling it as a “Fake Voter Protection Yatra”.
Sinha contended that the yatra is not aimed at safeguarding democratic rights, but rather a meticulously orchestrated scheme to protect duplicate voter cards, the identities of deceased individuals, and the votes of illegal immigrants.
He directly challenged Rahul Gandhi, questioning: “Does Rahul Gandhi support those seven lakh fraudulent voters identified by the Election Commission? Or does he condone voting on behalf of 22 lakh deceased individuals?”
Claiming that the campaign's true intention is to shield unlawful residents in Bihar, Sinha asserted that such infiltrators not only manipulate the electoral landscape but also threaten the state's social integrity and security.
“Does Rahul Gandhi wish to preserve the votes of infiltrators or defend the nation's borders?” he queried.
The BJP leader characterized the yatra as an attempt to taint democracy with fraudulent and illegal elements, deeming it unconstitutional and detrimental to the electoral framework and population equilibrium.
He vowed that the BJP would thwart any anti-national agenda, expressing optimism that voters in Bihar would respond appropriately in the forthcoming elections.
“The true essence of democracy lies in honest and eligible voters, not illegal infiltrators wielding fake identities,” Sinha stated.
The INDIA bloc is set to commence its Voter Adhikar Yatra on Sunday from Sasaram, protesting alleged discrepancies in Bihar's voter list revision.
This extensive 1,300 km journey will be co-led by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and the Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav.
Prominent leaders, including Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, and VIP chief Mukesh Sahani, are also expected to participate in the yatra.
Throughout the 16-day campaign, Rahul Gandhi will interact with the public, both on foot and via vehicle, depending on population density.
