India fuel supply stable: 1.26 crore LPG cylinders delivered in 3 days
India faces no shortage of petrol, diesel, or LPG, with oil refineries maintaining sufficient crude stocks for optimum production despite shipping disruptions caused by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a senior Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas official confirmed on Monday, 11 May. The assurance came as global energy markets continue to reel from the West Asia crisis, which has triggered considerable price volatility internationally.
LPG Delivery Numbers
Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Sujata Sharma, said that in the past three days, against 1.14 crore LPG bookings, cylinders had been delivered to 1.26 crore households — a delivery rate exceeding bookings. Additionally, more than 17,000 tonnes of commercial LPG and 762 tonnes of auto LPG were sold in the same period, along with more than 1,400 small 5-kg cylinders.
