Patna, May 10 (NationPress) Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Kumar Jha raised alarms on Saturday about the potential misuse of the $1 billion loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by Pakistan.
Speaking to IANS, Jha remarked, "The nations and organizations that reached this decision must seriously evaluate if these funds are intended for the citizens of Pakistan or for terrorist activities. Once the facts emerge, they will be astonished."
His comments are particularly pertinent as tensions between India and Pakistan have heightened following the military operation named 'Operation Sindoor'.
The RJD leader also emphasized the need for media discretion and endorsed the Indian government’s cautious approach amid the ongoing crisis.
"On Friday, I reiterated that our Army and government are fully equipped to handle the situation. I listened to the press briefing and urge both the public and news outlets to take a step back. The Ministry of External Affairs' briefing clearly stated that we have not sought to escalate tensions. On the night of Operation Sindoor's initiation, there were no assaults on military bases in Pakistan," he noted.
Rajesh Kumar Ram, the Bihar State President of the Congress Party, condemned Pakistan's recent actions and the exploitation of civilian assets for military purposes.
"The government of Pakistan is utilizing civilian aircraft for military defense by not closing its airspace. Our forces are strategically responding to their provocations. We take pride in our defense forces," he stated in Patna.
Ram further asserted, "Pakistan instigated India with the Pahalgam attack, and our army is more than capable of delivering a strong response. The central government rightly focused on targeting only terrorist infrastructure, avoiding harm to civilian sites, while Pakistan continues its attacks on innocent civilians in India, which is utterly unacceptable."
Earlier this week, India initiated 'Operation Sindoor', targeting nine terrorist hideouts situated in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
