Bhopal, April 11 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel finds himself embroiled in yet another controversy, this time for employing an offensive term during a recorded interaction. This incident comes shortly after his previous questionable comment comparing the public to “beggars”.

A video circulating on social media shows Patel seated in a vehicle, preparing to depart. While instructing his driver to proceed, a journalist, whose face remains unseen but whose voice is audible, politely asks, “Sir... Sir, ek ek sawal please” (Sir, just one question, please).

Patel, seemingly annoyed, retorts, “Isse pata chalta hai ki… tum pure samay nautanki karne wale log ho” (This indicates that you people are always engaging in theatrics), before directing his driver to continue.

The minister was reportedly in Khurai, where he received a proposal from CEO Girraj Sharma to launch a tree plantation initiative under a government program.

Visibly frustrated by the suggestion, possibly due to the extreme summer heat, Patel dismissed the idea and admonished Sharma. Sources indicate that this outburst was aimed directly at him. Subsequently, he canceled his planned public speech and exited the venue.

This video has incited significant backlash, particularly from opposing parties. Senior Congress leader and former Minister P. C. Sharma shared the video on X, criticizing Patel’s language.

“He is a minister in the Madhya Pradesh government. First, he insulted the public by referring to them as 'beggars', and now he resorts to abusive language. This is utterly unacceptable. Such an individual should not hold office,” Sharma expressed.

This is not the first instance of Patel’s remarks causing a stir. Just last month, he ignited controversy by stating that people have become used to “begging” from the government.

“Individuals have developed a reliance on society. Now, they have even begun to beg from the government,” he had stated at a public gathering.

Facing criticism, Patel defended his statements, attributing the misinterpretation to the media.
