Pawan Bansal Honors Dr. Manmohan Singh's Lasting Influence Across All Realms

Chandigarh, Dec 27 (NationPress) Former Union Minister Pawan Bansal expressed deep respect for former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who left us on Thursday night. In his tribute, Bansal emphasized Dr. Singh's transformative impact on India, referring to him as a leader whose efforts have created a lasting legacy for the nation.

Bansal communicated to IANS, “There is no domain where Dr. Manmohan Singh did not make an impression.”

He continued, “When our economy faced a downturn, he rejuvenated it with his visionary strategies. He empowered the common man through pioneering measures such as the Right to Information Act. He was indeed a leader who worked relentlessly to elevate the country.”

While reflecting on the legacy of the former Prime Minister, Bansal portrayed Dr. Singh as a “son of India,” whose leadership and foresight initiated significant changes.

“He accomplished remarkable feats for the nation,” Bansal remarked, stating, “Whether serving as Finance Minister or Prime Minister, his influence has molded modern India in numerous ways.”

Bansal, who served under him as Railway Minister, expounded on Dr. Singh’s accomplishments, explaining, “As Finance Minister in 1991, he salvaged the nation from economic turmoil by launching landmark reforms that integrated India into the global economy. As Prime Minister, he enacted transformative social legislation including the Right to Education Act, Food Security Act, and a revised Land Acquisition Law that guaranteed fair compensation for farmers, in addition to the Right to Information Act. His administration also forgave loans for farmers, provided free food grains to the underprivileged, and signed the historic Indo-US nuclear deal, fortifying India’s energy security.”

Highlighting Dr. Singh’s leadership during crises, Bansal noted that India managed to navigate the 2008 global economic recession effectively thanks to the robust economic groundwork established by Dr. Singh. “He rescued the nation from the edge of catastrophe and guided us towards progress,” he told IANS.

Bansal also reminisced about Dr. Singh’s dedication to financial inclusion. “Even without advanced online systems, he guaranteed that banking services reached the masses. Deposits, withdrawals, and receipts were handled efficiently at a time when such operations were manual. He envisioned an inclusive financial ecosystem long before digitization became widespread.”

According to Bansal, Dr. Manmohan Singh was a leader who preferred quiet action over showmanship. “He spoke less and worked more. His vision was always centered on advancing the country,” he stated.

Pawan Bansal concluded by saying that the entire nation grieves the loss of a distinguished leader, a statesman, and a visionary who devoted his life to India’s advancement and well-being.
