Amaravati, Feb 6 (NationPress) The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, urged citizens on Friday to take on the role of conscious guardians of dharma. Amidst the uproar regarding the alleged adulteration of ghee in the sacred Tirupati laddu, the Jana Sena leader emphasized the dharmic duties of Hindus.
“Each devotee has a Dharmic responsibility! We need to awaken from the comfort of an ordinary Hindu mindset, characterized by fear of God and reverence for faith.
“Yet, when our Hindu gods are disparaged or our dharma is ridiculed, we often suffer silently, attributing it to karma, and move ahead. This cycle must be broken,” Pawan Kalyan articulated in his post on ‘X’.
“Despite our differences in caste, creed, region, and language, dharma is singular and our gods are unchanged. It is our responsibility to express our anguish when our faith is intentionally belittled. Remaining silent in such instances undermines our collective moral fabric,” he stated.
“Beyond just being devotees, we must also serve as vigilant protectors of our faith. Upholding Hindu Dharma does not imply opposition to other religions. It simply denotes the defense of our own,” he further explained.
He utilized hashtags such as ‘no ghee in TTD laddu’ and ‘Sanatana Dharma Raksha Board’.
Alongside Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, BJP state president PVN Madhav, and other ministers, Pawan Kalyan held a joint press conference the previous day.
They refuted claims that the CBI's SIT had cleared the previous Andhra government of wrongdoing in the Tirupati laddu adulteration scandal, accusing it of committing a significant transgression.
The Jana Sena leader referenced the CBI's assertion that the ingredients used for the laddus were not derived from milk fat. He alleged that no ghee was utilized, asserting that the components were chemically produced.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday alleged that the sacred Tirupati laddu was crafted using ghee chemically manufactured from materials typically used for cleaning bathrooms.
He accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of attempting to undermine the sanctity of Sri Venkateswara Swamy by tainting the prasadam (offering).
“For five years, they have prepared prasadam with ghee derived from chemicals. The ghee was made from substances used for cleaning bathrooms,” he stated during a public assembly in Kurnool district.
This incident follows a demand from the YSR Congress Party for both Chief Minister Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan to apologize to devotees after a chargesheet from the Central Bureau of Investigation confirmed that no animal fat was present in the sacred Tirupati laddus.
YSRCP spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy remarked that a monumental conspiracy in Andhra Pradesh's history has been unveiled.
“The ICAR–National Dairy Research Institute in Haryana and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) in Gujarat have conclusively established that no animal fat of any type was found in the ghee used for the sacred Tirumala Sri Vari Laddu Prasadam. Chandrababu, who propagated falsehoods about animal fat being mixed into the ghee, should now humbly apologize,” he remarked.
YSRCP leaders emphasized that both Naidu and Pawan Kalyan have offended the religious sentiments of devotees by alleging that the ghee obtained by TTD during the YSRCP's governance was tainted with animal fat.
