Pawan Modi Seeks Custody of Grandson Following Atul Subhash's Tragic Death

Patna, Dec 24 (NationPress) The father of Atul Subhash, who tragically ended his life in his Bengaluru residence after accusing his wife and her family, has initiated a formal complaint at the Vaini police station in Bihar's Samastipur to recover and gain custody of his grandson.

In response to the complaint filed by Pawan Modi, the local police registered a zero FIR at the Vaini police station.

Anand Shankar Gaurav, the officer in charge of the Vaini police station, mentioned that the case is related to the Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh, and therefore, both the application and the FIR will be directed to the Jaunpur police for further investigation and necessary action.

“The Jaunpur police will take over the case as it falls under their jurisdiction,” Gaurav stated.

In the meantime, Pawan Modi, father of Atul Subhash, has voiced his profound sorrow over being unable to see his 2-year-old grandson.

“I have only seen my grandson once through a video call. My concern is for the child’s safety,” Modi expressed.

He is worried that the child may be in a precarious situation, fearing the worst and insisting that the child should be entrusted to him for protection and care.

“Given that Atul’s wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law are currently in custody, the location of the child remains uncertain,” he remarked.

Modi questioned why the child's whereabouts have not been made public, stressing that a 2-year-old is typically not placed in a boarding school.

Atul Subhash’s supposed final wish conveyed his despair over not obtaining justice, yet his father is resolutely pursuing legal solutions.

“If we do not get our grandson back, my whole family will resort to mass suicide,” he declared.

Atul’s younger brother, Vikas Modi, is engaged in a legal battle, hoping for justice from the judicial system and the government.

“I have appealed to the Prime Minister to enact stricter laws to prevent the misuse of legal provisions, such as those concerning dowry harassment, to avert tragedies similar to that of Atul Subhash,” Vikas stated.

The Supreme Court has acknowledged the case, highlighting its seriousness. Notices have been dispatched to the DGPs of three states, including Uttar Pradesh, instructing them to locate the missing child and submit a report by January 7.

Subhash, who was employed by an automobile company in Bengaluru, reportedly took his life after being pressured for a divorce settlement of Rs 3 crore. He ended his life in his apartment during the early hours of December 9, leaving behind a 90-minute video and a 40-page suicide note detailing how he was harassed by his wife Nikita Singhania and her family, leading him to this tragic decision.

The suicide note, titled “Justice is Due”, addressed to his 2-year-old child, stated: “Now with me gone, there will not be any money to loot, and I hope that they might start to look at the facts of the cases. Someday, you shall know the real face of your mother and her greedy family.”

“I pray that they don’t devour you and your soul. I often laugh when I think about how I started saving money for a car for you when you go to college. Silly me. Always remember that you don’t owe anything to anyone. Don’t trust the system.” Subhash elaborated on his last wishes in the note. “All my case hearings should happen live so that the citizens of this country can witness my case and understand the dire state of the legal system and the misuse of laws by these women.”

He further demanded: “Grant custody of my child to my parents, who can instill better values in him. Prevent my wife or her family from coming near my deceased body. Impose the maximum penalty on my harassers, although I have little faith in our legal system. If individuals like my wife are not imprisoned, they will feel encouraged to file more false cases against other innocent men in the future.”

“Awaken the judiciary and compel them to halt the harassment of my parents and my brother through false accusations. There should be no negotiations, settlements, or mediations with these malevolent individuals, and the culprits must face justice,” the letter concluded.
