Patna, April 23 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the Madhubani district in Bihar on Thursday to celebrate National Panchayati Raj Day.

During this significant occasion, he will address a large gathering and inaugurate an array of development initiatives totaling over Rs 13,480 crore, aimed at significantly enhancing infrastructure, connectivity, and rural development in Bihar.

According to the official schedule, PM Modi will reach Madhubani around 11:45 a.m., where he will participate in the National Panchayati Raj Day events and present the National Panchayat Awards, honoring exemplary panchayats from across India.

He will lay the groundwork for an LPG bottling plant at Hathua in Gopalganj valued at Rs 340 crore, which will improve the LPG supply chain in the region.

In the energy sector, PM Modi will lay foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,170 crore and inaugurate existing projects worth more than Rs 5,030 crore under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme.

In a notable enhancement to rail connectivity, he will launch the Amrit Bharat Express between Saharsa and Mumbai and initiate the Namo Bharat Rapid Rail between Jaynagar and Patna. The Prime Minister will also start new train services between Pipra-Saharsa and Saharsa-Samastipur, dedicate the Khagaria-Alauli rail line to the nation, inaugurate the Supaul-Pipra and Hasanpur-Bithan rail lines, and open two new rail overbridges at Chapra and Bagaha.

Furthermore, PM Modi will allocate Rs 930 crore under the Community Investment Fund to more than 2 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Bihar as part of the DAY-NRLM scheme.

Under the PMAY-Gramin scheme, he will distribute sanction letters to 15 lakh new beneficiaries, release funds to 10 lakh beneficiaries nationwide, and celebrate Grih Pravesh for 1 lakh PMAY-G and 54,000 PMAY-U homes in Bihar.

This grand event is strategically timed before the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, aiming to strengthen the BJP’s presence in the state.

JDU MP and Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, has confirmed that all administrative arrangements for the event at Bhairavastan in Jhanjharpur have been finalized, with key BJP leaders already arriving in North Bihar.

He also condemned the recent Pahalgam terror incident and expressed his condolences to the affected families.
