New Delhi, Oct 30 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to conduct a roadshow and deliver a significant public address in Motipur, within the Baruraj Assembly constituency of Muzaffarpur and Chhapra on Thursday as part of his campaign for the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

The Prime Minister aims to strongly advocate for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) while revisiting his earlier commitment to revitalize the historic Motipur Sugar Mill, which once represented the region’s economic prowess. PM Modi had previously vowed to restart the mill, famously stating that tea crafted from its sugar would serve as a sweet symbol of Bihar’s progress.

On social media platform X, PM Modi announced his visit on Wednesday, stating, “My family members in Bihar are actively contesting elections to secure a sweeping victory for the BJP-NDA. In this atmosphere of enthusiasm, I look forward to engaging with the people tomorrow morning at approximately 11 a.m. in Muzaffarpur and subsequently at 12:45 p.m. in Chhapra. I am confident that my brothers and sisters in Bihar will once again herald the dawn of a significant victory in the Assembly elections.”

Recently, PM Modi officially inaugurated the NDA’s campaign for the Bihar Assembly elections on October 24 with rallies in Samastipur and Begusarai. He had previously initiated the election campaign from Karpoorigram, paying homage to former Bihar Chief Minister Karpoori Thakur, whose legacy continues to influence social justice politics in the state.

PM Modi has frequently praised Thakur’s efforts in empowering the underprivileged and advocating for equality. Last year, his government honored the socialist leader with the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian award. In July, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw also laid the foundation stone for redeveloping Karpoorigram Station with an investment of Rs 3.3 crore, reflecting the NDA’s dedication to preserving Thakur’s legacy.

The political climate in Bihar is growing increasingly charged. On Wednesday, Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, addressed a joint Mahagathbandhan rally in Muzaffarpur, sharply criticizing the Prime Minister.

The Congress leader accused PM Modi of “doing anything for votes,” alleging that the BJP was “stealing elections” in various states. “He just wants your vote. If you ask him to dance for votes, he will dance,” LoP Gandhi reiterated his claims of “vote theft.”

As the campaign heats up, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has also been conducting a series of rallies in Begusarai, Samastipur, and Darbhanga, energizing NDA workers and supporters throughout the state.

The Bihar Assembly elections are set to take place in two phases — on November 6 and 11 — with vote counting scheduled for November 14. The Election Commission has already released the polling schedule for the 243-member Assembly.

With this announcement, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force statewide. Voting will occur in 121 constituencies during the first phase, while 122 constituencies will cast their votes in the second phase.
