Gwalior, May 25 (NationPress) Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra stated that the remarkable transformation of Datia, situated in the Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh, is a direct result of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The residents of Datia no longer have to travel to Jhansi railway station for their train journeys.
On Saturday, Minister Mishra remarked that the time has arrived when individuals from Jhansi and surrounding districts will choose to fly from Datia airport.
This progress illustrates how Datia, once infamous for its 'jungles' and 'dacoits', has evolved over the last few decades.
Mishra, who has represented Datia in the Assembly multiple times, made this comment as Prime Minister Modi is set to virtually inaugurate the newly constructed Datia airport during his upcoming visit to Bhopal on May 31.
“There was a time when residents of Datia had to travel to Jhansi for their train journeys. Now, people from Jhansi will be traveling to Datia to catch a flight. This remarkable change is solely attributed to the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Mishra emphasized.
He further mentioned that not only Datia, but the entire Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh has experienced significant growth in the last ten years.
Reflecting on his long-term efforts to secure approval for an airport in Datia, Mishra expressed confidence that it will attract more visitors to Maa Pitambara.
“PM Modi initiated the Bundelkhand Expressway, followed by the Ken-Betwa river linking project, and now the first airport in this region. His contributions have truly transformed Bundelkhand, and our gratitude will never be enough,” he concluded.
The newly established Datia Airport covers approximately 118 acres, featuring a runway that measures 1,810 meters in length and 30 meters in width.
The terminal building spans 768 square meters and has the capacity to accommodate 100 passengers every hour, according to an official from Raja Bhoj airport in Bhopal.
Officials indicated that the establishment of Datia airport represents a significant milestone in enhancing air connectivity throughout Madhya Pradesh.
Its 3C/VFR classification permits the operation of regional aircraft under visual flight conditions.
The airport's state-of-the-art infrastructure incorporates essential security and passenger handling mechanisms that comply with current aviation standards.
This development marks the ninth public airport in Madhya Pradesh available for public use, joining Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, and Gwalior.
