Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Feb 10 (NationPress) Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s trade ecosystem is experiencing a groundbreaking and swift transformation, expressed Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday.
While engaging with a delegation from the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), led by MP Praveen Khandelwal at Vanijya Bhawan, the minister noted that domestic trade has significantly improved, while global markets are simultaneously creating fresh opportunities for Indian products, steering the Indian economy towards elevated growth.
Recently, India and the US finalized a momentous interim trade deal framework, symbolizing a pivotal milestone in India’s global trade relations, ensuring continued preferential access for exports valued at over $30 trillion in the US market.
Highlighting the upcoming Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav organized by CAIT from May 1-4 at Bharat Mandapam, Goyal emphasized that this event would effectively promote PM Modi’s vision of encouraging the purchase and sale of Indian products both domestically and internationally.
Goyal indicated that this grand event would display the prowess, capabilities, and potential of India’s trade, industry, and services sector on an international platform. He reiterated the importance of ensuring that the Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav significantly contributes to fortifying the Indian economy.
During CAIT’s National Governing Council gathering in New Delhi on November 25 last year, Goyal had proposed the idea of hosting such a large-scale national trade event.
The meeting encompassed extensive discussions on advocating Swadeshi products, MSMEs, startups, and artisans through digital transactions, broader market access, and robust B2B and B2C networking.
Goyal asserted that these initiatives would bolster the Prime Minister’s Make in India and Local to Global vision, playing a crucial role in positioning India’s manufacturing capabilities and innovations on the global stage. He also stressed the necessity of providing special recognition and visibility to entrepreneurs from remote areas, ensuring their indigenous products reach larger markets.
Khandelwal shared that the four-day grand event will feature nearly 2,200 stalls, showcasing a variety of Indian products and services from across the nation. The Mahotsav is anticipated to draw around 10 lakh visitors from all states, including approximately 2 lakh business visitors.
