Kolkata, May 20 (NationPress) Manoj Tigga, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha representative from the Alipurduar constituency in West Bengal, announced on Tuesday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to speak at a public gathering in the Alipurduar district on May 29.
This event marks the Prime Minister's initial visit following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, in which the Indian Armed Forces effectively dismantled several terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir earlier this month.
The last time the Prime Minister graced West Bengal, particularly Alipurduar, was prior to the Lok Sabha elections last year.
The upcoming rally on May 29 holds significant importance as West Bengal prepares for Assembly elections in the upcoming year.
On Tuesday afternoon, Tigga, accompanied by local BJP leaders, inspected the parade ground in Alipurduar. During the inspection, he informed reporters about the potential of the Prime Minister addressing the rally on May 29.
"This will be his first visit after the successful Operation Sindoor. Hence, we came here today to assess the parade ground. We aimed to determine the precise location for the dais from which the Prime Minister will speak. He has already addressed numerous public rallies across the nation, emphasizing the achievements of our Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor. This rally in Alipurduar on May 29 is part of his nationwide initiative," Tigga stated.
He further mentioned that this rally will serve as a significant morale booster for the grassroots BJP workers in the state.
"We received this information only last night. We are yet to disseminate the details to our booth-level workers. The Prime Minister's address will undoubtedly uplift our party members," he added.
