Dehradun, Aug 6 (NationPress) On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi communicated with Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to assess the devastating conditions in the Dharali region of Uttarkashi, severely impacted by dual cloudbursts that obliterated an entire village and left many individuals unaccounted for.
The Prime Minister also requested information regarding the current status of the ongoing relief and rescue operations in the affected area.
CM Dhami informed him that the state government is fully equipped and coordinating with all relevant agencies to deliver swift assistance to those in need.
Despite the persistent rainfall, CM Dhami indicated that some regions remain hard to reach, but continuous efforts are being made to facilitate relief efforts.
CM Dhami shared insights from his conversation on X, stating, "The Honourable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, sought updates on the relief and rescue operations in Dharali this morning. He was briefed on the overnight rescue missions, the transfer of individuals from hazardous sites to safety, and the provision of essential services and resources."
Expressing gratitude for the Prime Minister’s support, CM Dhami remarked, "I sincerely thank the Honourable Prime Minister for extending every possible assistance! I am in constant communication with the rescue operation team and will personally visit Dharali to assess the situation at the incident site."
During their discussion, PM Modi reassured the Chief Minister that the Central Government would provide all necessary support to manage this crisis.
