The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is conducting a thorough investigation into the crash, which is based on technical data and evidence. The aircraft was fitted with two independent flight recorders. The Digital Flight Data Recorder (DFDR), produced by L3 Communications, has been successfully retrieved at the AAIB's facility in New Delhi. Unfortunately, the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) suffered thermal damage. Since it was manufactured by Honeywell, the ministry has requested technical assistance from the design/manufacture state in accordance with ICAO standards.
In 2025, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) conducted 51 regulatory audits of non-scheduled operators. Furthermore, several inspections were performed on M/s VSR Ventures, focusing on areas such as flight safety systems, flight duty time limitations, maintenance compliance (CAR M and CAR 145), documentation, and station facilities. All surveillance issues have been resolved and closed, the statement confirmed.
In response to the accident, the Ministry of Civil Aviation instructed the DGCA to perform a special audit of VSR Ventures. This audit aims to conduct a comprehensive review of regulatory compliance, operational control systems, maintenance practices, crew training standards, safety management systems, and CVR/FDR monitoring. The audit began on February 4 and is expected to conclude soon, with findings to be reviewed and actions taken according to the DGCA's enforcement policy.
Additionally, the DGCA has been tasked with executing special audits of other significant non-scheduled operators and aerodromes involved in VIP/VVIP operations, with these audits being conducted in phases and appropriate enforcement actions taken as necessary.
