Chandigarh, March 8 (NationPress) Punjab's Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann declared on Sunday that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration has honored its most significant electoral commitment by launching the ‘Mukh Mantri Mawaan Dhian Satkar Yojna,’ aimed at providing financial aid to women throughout Punjab.

The initiative will grant women a monthly sum of Rs 1,000, while those from Scheduled Caste backgrounds will benefit from Rs 1,500, with a substantial Rs 9,300 crore allocated in the state Budget for its execution.

CM Mann characterized this initiative as a pivotal advancement in promoting women's financial autonomy, asserting that the AAP government's “Saari Guarantiyan Puri” Budget illustrates its dedication to fulfilling electoral promises while extending welfare programs such as complimentary bus travel, free electricity, and cashless healthcare to uplift women and support households across the region.

While addressing the media following the presentation of the 2026-27 Budget by Finance Minister Harpal Cheema, CM Mann extended his congratulations to the mothers, daughters, and sisters of Punjab, expressing hope that they continue to create new success narratives in various sectors.

He emphasized that the Budget was unveiled on a day specifically dedicated to women, fulfilling a crucial pledge made by the AAP government to enhance their social and economic empowerment.

“This Budget is people-centric and guarantees that women and diverse community segments receive assistance through welfare initiatives and public services,” he stated.

“The AAP government has accomplished its most significant electoral promise to the populace. Women in Punjab will now receive Rs 1,000 monthly under the Mukh Mantri Mawaan Dhian Satikar Yojna, while Scheduled Caste women will receive Rs 1,500 each month,” remarked CM Mann.

He announced that special camps would be organized statewide to facilitate women in completing the necessary procedures to benefit from the scheme.

The registration for financial aid will commence from Baisakhi and will be executed swiftly to ensure all eligible beneficiaries are included as soon as possible.

Every woman over the age of 18 will qualify for benefits under this scheme, guaranteeing extensive coverage for women across the state.

CM Mann referred to the Budget as a landmark document, signifying the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens and the advancement of the state.

“This is not just a Budget; it is an affirmation of the state's progress and the prosperity of its people,” he remarked, commending Finance Minister Cheema for presenting a Budget that caters to every societal segment.

Criticizing previous administrations, he noted that earlier Budgets often consisted of mere announcements without delivering substantial benefits to citizens.

In prior terms, Budgets were restricted to grand statements and poetic expressions rather than tangible policies aimed at enhancing the lives of the populace.
