Chandigarh, Dec 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, on Monday reached out to prominent Korean companies, urging them to consider investing in the state.
During a meeting with Jung Won Joo, the Chairman of Daewoo E&C, while in South Korea, the Chief Minister advocated for collaboration in renewable energy initiatives such as offshore wind farms, solar energy plants, and hydrogen production facilities.
He pointed out significant opportunities for partnership in constructing energy infrastructure like LNG terminals, petrochemical complexes, and fertilizer manufacturing plants, as well as urban development projects that incorporate smart city concepts with integrated housing and advanced infrastructure solutions, alongside civil infrastructure projects encompassing roads, bridges, railways, ports, and airports.
CM Mann emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in technology transfer for modular and prefabricated construction techniques to facilitate quicker and more cost-effective building solutions.
In his discussion with Daewoo E&C, recognized as one of South Korea's leading engineering and infrastructure firms, the Chief Minister highlighted Punjab's robust industrial growth, modern infrastructure projects, and the distinctive unified regulatory framework under Invest Punjab.
He encouraged the Global Business Group to seize opportunities in extensive infrastructure development, the adoption of contemporary construction technologies, and upcoming industrial zones within the state.
Moreover, CM Mann stressed the need for collaboration on ESG and green hydrogen initiatives through joint ventures that conform to global sustainability standards.
In another meeting with Young Ha Ryu (Daniel), Vice-President of GS Engineering & Construction (GS E&C), the Chief Minister reiterated the necessity for partnerships in renewable energy projects, infrastructure development, and industrial complexes, along with EPC Services.
He pointed out the vast potential in critical sectors such as technology transfer for modular construction and green hydrogen initiatives, along with clean energy projects.
CM Mann assured his support and collaboration in these pivotal areas to accelerate the state's development.
In a separate meeting with Nongshim Holdings, a celebrated packaged foods and beverages company, the Chief Minister advocated for the food and food processing sector, suggesting the joint development of new instant noodle flavors specifically designed for Indian consumers.
Additionally, he urged for an expansion of Nongshim's presence in Indian supermarkets and e-commerce platforms, along with collaboration on campaigns aimed at health-conscious consumers and the youth segment.
