Doha, May 25 (NationPress) The Shura Council of Qatar, the nation's premier legislative authority, on Sunday expressed its unwavering support for India, aligning with the call from the delegation led by Supriya Sule to eradicate terrorism in all its manifestations from wherever it arises.
The Indian delegation, spearheaded by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-SP) member Supriya Sule, engaged with members of Qatar’s legislative assembly, presenting insights into India’s Operation Sindoor—a series of precise military actions that dismantled terrorist infrastructures in Pakistan—and highlighting Pakistan’s overt support for terrorism, backed by documented evidence.
After the meeting with the Shura Council, Sule addressed the media, stating that all members of Qatar's Parliament unanimously supported India, emphasizing that terrorism must be eradicated at its roots.
She noted that Qatari Parliamentarians shared India’s commitment to combatting terrorism and maintaining a strict zero-tolerance policy towards corruption.
Earlier, the all-party delegation, led by Supriya Sule, met with Qatar's Shura Council in Doha, conveying India’s firm stance against Pakistan-sponsored cross-border terrorism and stressing the urgency to control and hold accountable nations that harbor or protect terrorists.
The delegation included Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Anurag Thakur, V. Muraleedharan, Congress leaders Manish Tewari and Anand Sharma, Telugu Desam Party's Lavu Sri Krishna Devarayalu, Aam Aadmi Party leader Vikramjeet Singh Sawhney, and former diplomat Syed Akbaruddin.
In her remarks to IANS, Supriya Sule articulated the pain of a family from Pune, underscoring the necessity of a unified fight against terrorism.
"The nation and the global community stand united against terrorism, having experienced its painful impact. Even today, two families from Pune recount their trauma, vividly remembering the events that instilled fear in them. It’s imperative to understand what they have endured," she stated.
As part of India’s extensive diplomatic initiative, the delegation is also set to travel to South Africa, Ethiopia, and Egypt in the coming days.
