PM Modi shared on X, "I spoke with my brother, H.H. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar. We stand in firm solidarity with Qatar and denounce any infringement on its sovereignty and territorial integrity. We agreed on the urgent need to restore peace and stability in the region through constructive dialogue and diplomacy."
He also expressed gratitude for the Amir’s ongoing support for the Indian community in Qatar during these challenging circumstances.
In the past two days, PM Modi has reached out to leaders from the UAE, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain, Oman, and Kuwait, as India maintains communication with regional governments and key partners regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran and the Gulf region.
On the same day, Indian Ambassador Vipul connected virtually with representatives of Indian community organizations in Qatar to address the current situation and their concerns.
The Indian Embassy in Doha stated on X, "We are actively collaborating with the community and local authorities to ensure the welfare and well-being of all Indian nationals in Qatar."
In a statement released on Tuesday evening, Qatar's Foreign Ministry vehemently denounced the Iranian attacks targeting the embassies of the United States in Riyadh and Kuwait, labeling them a "blatant violation" of international law.
"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that these Iranian attacks contravene international agreements and diplomatic norms, which prohibit assaults on diplomatic missions and ensure immunity for their premises and staff. The Ministry reaffirms Qatar's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait in all actions they undertake to protect their security and sovereignty," the statement read.
On Monday, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States jointly condemned Iran's "indiscriminate and reckless missile and drone attacks" against sovereign territories, including Bahrain, Iraq (including the Iraqi Kurdistan Region), Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
"These unprovoked strikes targeted sovereign territories, endangered civilian lives, and damaged civilian infrastructure. The actions of the Islamic Republic signify a perilous escalation that undermines the sovereignty of multiple nations and jeopardizes regional stability," the joint statement concluded.
