Doha, Nov 16 (NationPress) External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Qatar Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in Doha on Sunday, reaffirming India's dedication to enhancing bilateral relations.
During their discussion, EAM Jaishankar extended the warm regards of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
"It was an honor to meet H.H. Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Amir of Qatar, in Doha today. I conveyed the heartfelt greetings of PM Narendra Modi and reaffirmed our commitment to deeper India-Qatar relations. I value his insights on broadening collaboration and discovering new avenues for cooperation," the External Affairs Minister shared on X.
Additionally, Jaishankar engaged with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. The leaders addressed significant facets of their Strategic Partnership, including energy, trade, investment, and fostering people-to-people connections.
Post their meeting, EAM Jaishankar posted on X, stating, "I was pleased to meet Qatar’s Prime Minister & Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani in Doha. We reviewed key aspects of our Strategic Partnership, covering energy, trade, investment, and people-to-people ties. I appreciate the dialogue on Middle East/West Asia, as well as regional and global developments."
According to Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the discussions between EAM Jaishankar and Sheikh Mohammed centered on bilateral relations and strategies to enhance cooperation between the nations. They also examined a variety of shared concerns.
Earlier in October, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal met with Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed in Doha, expressing hope for increasing economic engagement between the two countries.
"I was delighted to meet Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs, Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed. We reminisced about our discussions in New Delhi in August, during which he led a substantial investment delegation from Qatar to India.
