New Delhi, Jan 6 (NationPress) Union Minister Pralhad Joshi emphasized on Tuesday that quality transcends mere responsibility, emerging as a powerful competitive edge. He underscored the vital role of standards in achieving excellence, ensuring consumer protection, facilitating ease of doing business, and promoting initiatives like Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
While addressing the 79th Foundation Day of the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in New Delhi, Joshi stated that standards serve as key benchmarks for quality and trust, enabling Indian products to thrive in both domestic and international markets.
He remarked, “Quality is not just a responsibility; it is a competitive advantage, with standards acting as benchmarks for excellence, consumer protection, ease of doing business, Make in India, and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.”
During the event, he highlighted the importance of robust quality systems that not only safeguard consumers but also enhance governance and simplify business processes.
The minister recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuous focus on quality in governance, service delivery, and manufacturing, asserting that products marked as ‘Made in India’ should inherently reflect high quality and global trust.
