New Delhi, Jan 30 (NationPress) During a public rally in Badli Assembly Constituency, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a pointed attack against former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of being all words and no actions, especially concerning the cleaning of the Yamuna river.

Rahul Gandhi reminded the crowd that five years ago, Kejriwal boldly claimed he would drink water from the Yamuna once it was purified. However, as per the Congress leader, instead of honoring his commitment, Kejriwal is now merely conducting press conferences with bottles containing river water.

The Congress MP dismissed this act as a hollow gesture and a clear sign of Kejriwal's absence of sincere effort.

Rahul Gandhi also shared a video of the Yamuna on X, stating, "In the last election, Arvind Kejriwal promised to take a dip in the Yamuna. Now, Delhi is eagerly waiting for him to fulfill that vow."

"Kejriwal ji, it is now 2025. When will you take a dip in the Yamuna? Delhi is anticipating!" he added in the caption of the video.

At the rally, Rahul Gandhi remarked: "Kejriwal ji, five years ago, you were talking about drinking Yamuna water. Today, someone informed me that he is conducting press conferences with bottles filled with Yamuna river water; this is hollowness."

In the same breath, the Congress leader emphasized that the issue transcended mere political blame. He insisted that the Yamuna should not just be viewed as a water body, but as a living entity deserving of respect.

"We must regard the Yamuna not just as a water source, but as a living being. We need to honor it," he urged everyone to treat the river with the respect it merits.

Rahul Gandhi criticized the AAP government for neglecting the Yamuna and allowing it to deteriorate. He called for collective action to foster meaningful change, urging the public to step forward where the government has faltered.

"When the government has abandoned the Yamuna to fend for itself, we must unite and take steps to improve its condition," he stated.

He also encouraged the public to actively engage in the movement aimed at the restoration of the Yamuna.

"If you have any ideas, please share them with us at this link. We are eager to hear the voice of India," the former Congress chief concluded, calling for a united effort to rejuvenate the Yamuna and safeguard its future.
