Rahul Gandhi Visits Kerala to Honor Gandhi Family Associate Madhavan

Thrissur, Dec 17 (NationPress) Congress leader Rahul Gandhi arrived in Kerala on Tuesday morning to pay his respects to P. P. Madhavan, a devoted aide of the Gandhi family and the personal secretary to Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
The 73-year-old Madhavan passed away in Delhi after suffering a heart attack on Monday.
Subsequently, his remains were transported to his home here.
Madhavan, a former employee of the central government, had been associated with the Gandhi family since 1984, when Rajiv Gandhi became the Prime Minister, and he later became a close confidant of Sonia Gandhi.
Meanwhile, AICC general secretary and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi paid her respects to Madhavan at AIIMS in Delhi, where he passed away.
On Tuesday morning, both Rahul and AICC general secretary (organisation) K. C. Venugopal visited Madhavan's residence to offer their condolences.
Alappuzha MP Venugopal remarked that Madhavan would always be remembered for his unwavering commitment and devotion to the Congress party.
Venugopal stated: "It is with profound sorrow and grief that we report the untimely passing of P P Madhavan, a long-serving personal aide to CPP Chairperson Sonia Gandhi. He dedicated decades of selfless service to the party, including working closely with Rajiv Gandhi, and his contributions will always be cherished."
Interestingly, Madhavan served as a vital connection between Congress leaders and Sonia Gandhi, establishing a strong rapport with all national Congress figures and being well-acquainted with their strategies.
For Congress leaders from Kerala, Madhavan was an essential link to their interactions with Sonia and other members of the Gandhi family.
The final rites for Madhavan will take place at his family residence here.
