Rahul Gandhi's Visit to Sambhal Today Sparks Support from Congress Workers

New Delhi, Dec 4 (NationPress) As Congress leader Rahul Gandhi prepares for his visit to Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday, enthusiastic supporters convened at the party headquarters to demonstrate their solidarity.

Congress member Itrat Hussain Babar stated, "Our leader promotes the ideals of love and brotherhood wherever he travels. He consistently encourages us to establish a foundation of love and nurture peace, ensuring that harmony prevails. Hindus and Muslims must coexist in unity. The recent events are unacceptable, particularly the actions of both the public and the police."

Another Congress supporter, Haji Maqbool Alam, emphasized the objective of the visit, stating, "Rahul Gandhi is visiting Sambhal to gain insights into the current situation. We have come to warmly welcome our leader and accompany him."

Sardar Balbir Singh expressed, "We stand united with Rahul Gandhi. Through his endeavors, we hope the administration will heed the concerns of the community."

Discussing the events in Sambhal, Itrat Hussain Babar clarified, "This issue involves the police and a mosque, not a Hindu-Muslim strife. Rahul Gandhi is coming to ensure that peace and brotherhood are upheld."

Simultaneously, Congress supporters gathered at the Ghazipur border (the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border), chanting slogans in favor of Rahul Gandhi.

Regarding security measures, ACP Indirapuram Swatantra Kumar Singh informed IANS, "Security has been organized here as a precaution. We will adhere to all directives as instructed."

This visit occurs amid restrictions on outsider entry imposed by the district administration until December 10, following violence during a survey of the Shahi Jama Masjid that resulted in five fatalities.

Rahul Gandhi, along with newly-elected Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and five party MPs from Uttar Pradesh, are scheduled to visit Sambhal district on Wednesday, which has experienced violent clashes in recent weeks.

Sambhal has remained tense since November 19, when a court-ordered survey of the historical Shahi Jama Masjid sparked claims that a Harihar temple once existed at that location. Violence erupted during a follow-up survey on November 24, leading to clashes between protesters and security forces.
