Bhopal, Aug 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, stated on Thursday that the upcoming railway coach manufacturing unit to be built in Raisen district will significantly contribute to the state's advancement.
This remark came during a meeting where he reviewed preparations for this transformative project, emphasizing it would be a valuable addition for Madhya Pradesh from the Central Government.
Notably, the Bhoomi Pujan and foundation stone laying ceremony will be conducted by senior BJP leader and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The event is set to occur in Obaidullaganj, a locality bordering Bhopal and Raisen districts, on August 10.
Among the dignitaries attending will be former Madhya Pradesh CM and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who represents Vidisha (which includes Raisen), Defence Production Secretary Sanjeev Kumar, Railway Board Chairman Satish Kumar, and BEML Chairman Shantanu Rai.
Regarding the event preparations, Chief Minister Yadav mentioned that the ceremony will include a short film about the BEML project, a 3D walkthrough of the proposed facility, and models of the future manufacturing units.
"This initiative embodies the essence of the ‘Make in India’ campaign championed by Prime Minister Modi. The coaches produced here for Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat, and Metro trains will signify a new chapter in India's railway sector," CM Yadav remarked.
He also added that the project will benefit the districts of Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, and Vidisha, generating job opportunities, particularly for graduates from local technical institutions.
It is projected that over 1,500 jobs (both direct and indirect) will be created thanks to this initiative.
The modern railway coach manufacturing facility is being set up by BEML, a Bengaluru-based company recognized as Asia's second-largest producer of earthmoving machinery.
The facility will be located in Umaria village, within the Goharganj tehsil of Raisen district, approximately 50 km from the state capital, Bhopal.
The state government has allocated 60 hectares (or 148 acres) of land to the company. This announcement was initially made by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav during a one-day business meeting in Bengaluru earlier in May this year.
Last week, a delegation led by BEML's Chairman and Managing Director, Shantanu Roy, along with Director of Rail and Metro, Rajiv Gupta, visited CM Yadav in Bhopal and confirmed that all necessary processes for establishing the unit have been finalized.
