Rajasthan Leaders Offer 'Chadar' at Ajmer Sharif Dargah, Promoting Peace and Unity

Jaipur, Jan 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, along with Deputy Chief Minister Prem Chand Bairwa, presented a 'chadar' at the 813th Urs, which commemorates the death anniversary of the esteemed Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.
This act was accompanied by heartfelt prayers for peace and brotherhood throughout the state.
Messages from both leaders were subsequently shared during the event.
On behalf of the Chief Minister, the BJP Minority Wing State President, Hamid Khan Mewati, delivered the 'chadar' to the dargah.
Prior to his arrival at the revered site, Mewati received a warm welcome at the Circuit House.
While addressing the gathering, he conveyed the Chief Minister's message about nurturing Rajasthan's 'Ganga-Jamuna Tehzeeb', underscoring the importance of maintaining communal harmony on the state's sacred grounds.
Chief Minister Sharma also expressed his best wishes for the Urs festival and reaffirmed his commitment to peace and unity.
Mewati emphasized that Chief Minister Sharma adheres to the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' and strives to uplift all 36 communities in Rajasthan.
He highlighted the Chief Minister's accomplishments over the previous year, stating that significant development initiatives have been undertaken under his leadership.
Special prayers were conducted at the dargah for the Chief Minister's well-being and ongoing endeavors.
Mewati remarked that the Chief Minister's message highlighted the necessity of preserving peace and brotherhood in the state, which is integral to its 'Ganga-Jamuna' cultural heritage.
Furthermore, he noted that Chief Minister Sharma has effectively countered anti-social elements, thereby reinforcing communal harmony in Rajasthan.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also presented a 'chadar' at the Ajmer Sharif Dargah on Sunday to celebrate the auspicious occasion of the Urs of the venerated Sufi saint.
After the 'chadar' was presented, Rajnath Singh's message was similarly read aloud from the Buland Darwaza.
A 'chadar' sent by former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje was also presented on Saturday.
Earlier that Saturday morning, Union Minority and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju offered a 'chadar' on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and conveyed his message.
Commenting on the PM's offering of the 'chadar', Syed Naseruddin Chishti, the successor to the Ajmer Dargah Chief and Chairman of the All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council, remarked to IANS, "This tradition, which dates back to 1947, has been maintained by every Prime Minister of the country. Since taking office in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently sent a 'chadar' as a symbol of devotion and respect. This reflects India's profound culture of honoring all religions, communities, and Sufi saints."
