Jaipur, Dec 22 (NationPress) On Monday, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju presented a 'chadar' (sacred offering) and flowers at the dargah of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer, representing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union government during the 814th Urs.
In celebration of this significant occasion, Minister Rijiju laid the sacred 'chadar' and flowers at the esteemed shrine, symbolizing respect from both the Prime Minister and the Union government.
After his prayers at the dargah, Rijiju was received warmly at the Mehfil Khana by officials from the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs.
The Urs has officially begun at the revered Ajmer dargah.
Every day, thousands of devotees from India and abroad are visiting the shrine of Khwaja Garib Nawaz to pay their respects, with the celebrations continuing until December 30.
In a post on his official X account, Rijiju expressed: "On the auspicious occasion of the 814th Urs of Khwaja Garib Nawaz, I had the honor of visiting the revered Dargah Sharif in Ajmer and offering the sacred chadar at the holy shrine. I prayed for peace, harmony, and the well-being of all. In another post, he mentioned: "I was accompanied by Minister of State Bhagirath Choudhary; Suresh Singh Rawat, Rajasthan's Water Resources Planning Minister; Chandra Shekhar Kumar, Secretary of the Union Ministry of Minority Affairs; Vandita Rana, Ajmer Superintendent of Police; and various other dignitaries."
Additionally, a separate 'chadar' was presented at the Ajmer dargah by Chirag Paswan, Chief of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and Union Minister, on behalf of the Central government and Prime Minister Modi.
Earlier, Rijiju had posted on X about his warm reception at Jaipur Airport, stating: "Heading to Dargah Sharif, Ajmer, to offer chadar and seek prayers for peace and compassion globally.
