Jaipur, March 1 (NationPress) The Rajasthan government has ramped up its initiatives to hasten the resolution of legal disputes related to the Mines Department and recover overdue payments.

T. Ravikant, the Principal Secretary of Mines and Petroleum, mentioned that the government is diligently working to enhance its legal representation in court for cases where outstanding amounts exceed Rs 10 crore.

A high-level committee has been established, led by the Additional Director at Mines Headquarters. This committee will scrutinize and assess pending cases based on their merits. Its members include the Financial Advisor from the Mines Department, Joint Legal Advisors from Udaipur and Jaipur, along with Additional Directors of Mines from Jaipur, Kota, Udaipur, and Jodhpur.

Estimates indicate that more than Rs 1,000 crore is locked in over 50 unresolved legal cases, each exceeding Rs 10 crore.

T. Ravikant highlighted that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has been persistently urging officials to accelerate the recovery of dues and ensure strong representation for the department in court.
